About NASRO
NASRO is dedicated to serving the human needs of people in the technology business and other businesses for affordable and sustainable health care, housing, and transportation, while changing the way we do business. We are most well known for our work as a provider of group health insurance and as an advocate for universal health care.
With the pause button being hit with federal health care reform, the roll out to be slowed and costs still rising private action is needed now. Payers of health insurance need to come together and form a large buying co-operative that can move swiftly to create new competition to U.S. based health insurance companies and medical conglomerates.
NASRO is moving quickly to set a plan in motion new health insurance plans with much lower cost structures from underwriters, administrators and medical providers.
These efforts toward co-operative development go beyond the facilitating role that NASRO has been playing in recent years. To build competition to the the health insurance industry we need support from employer groups willing to work with us at no extra cost to themselves.
NASRO was founded by health care consumer advocate, Robert G. Gaw in 1992, to provide services for people and organizations who are tired of having the health insurance marketplace dominated by a few large insurance companies working with health care providers to set prices and prevent competition.
Robert G. Gaw has been working in health care management and administration since 1982; for community based non-profit HMO's, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a health insurance company focused on military families, Trust Funds and for NASRO.

Robert Gaw, NASRO President & Founder
A Champion of Universal Health Care
An Innovator and Challenger to a Complacent Industry
NASRO also provides health insurance services to large national groups and employer groups. NASRO is the first organization in the U.S. to offer seamless access to affordable international medical networks that are equal in quality to those in the U.S. Our non-profit co-operative is operational every day and seeks to expand its influence in the the health care industry. Working with other groups our goal is to dramatically change the industry and end the domination of a for profit ethos that has lead us to be where we are today.
NASRO's goal is too see a health care industry that is more egalitarian, with humane working conditions provided to its front line workers, its nurses and its doctors and more humane and better quality treatment of patients by medical providers.
NASRO continues to focus its service program on health plan administration. As health care and health insurance continue to grow more and more complex as layer after layer is added to satisfy the needs of the industry and sometimes the government, NASRO believes there is an important role for a private non-profit administrator of health plans that is accountable to its members, as a check against the infringements on privacy, to provide quality service and to curtail administrative rule making that favors the powerful.
