What We Stand For
The National Association
of Socially Responsible Organizations (NASRO) being made up of many small organizations may not appear at first glance to be special or to be particularly dedicated to being socially responsible. But our members support of our ideals is genuine and comes from believers hearts. NASRO is not an elitist group of organizations that speaks from an elevated position of knowledge or truth, but is made up your every day information technology programmer, or builder or non-profit executive who is willing to join an organization that is working in the interests of health care consumers. That is where we start to work together from a position of enlightened self interest.
NASRO has never found much comfort from organizations promoting corporate social responsibility. With a few notable exceptions we have found when we meet with them the usual response is " I don't get it, how is it what you are doing going to promote our businesses. "
NASRO is a mainstream organization because the issues we have been fighting for, universal health care and a sustainable economy are now overwhelming supported by self employed people and small business owners. NASRO for the past 15 years has been working for the greening of America. Many of our members have been independently working for green technology, green building design and sustainable development starting with the first Earth Day in 1970.
NASRO stands not just for providing the best health plans at the lowest cost, but for being an on line community where people can be motivated to build a stable alternative local economy. NASRO stands for
the development of socially responsible individuals and small business involvement in humanitarian efforts for the common good. We are fighting for private/ public sector solutions that lead to better job creation programs, health care affordability, housing access, energy saving and environmentally friendly transportation policies and sustainable economic development.
