About NASRO - Who We Are

NASRO is a nineteen year old non-profit association of small businesses. NASRO is managed by our founder and CEO , Robert Gaw. Mr. Gaw is a health care consultant with 25 years of extensive senior management experience and board of directors service for some of the country's leading health plans. Prior to this, Mr. Gaw was an advocate for health care reform beginning with his work on behalf of the Kennedy/Corman bill of 1974. Before he specialized in health care policy and administration Mr. Gaw was an activist who helped lead movements for justice that expanded the rights and freedoms for all of us to have an opportunity to fulfill our potential and to live without fear.

" I discovered what would many years later become the strategy and the model for NASRO, when I was 16 and was working on one of my first paid jobs in Washington D.C. for the staff at the campaign headquarters of Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign. I also discovered what is now one of the forgotten answers to how we are to pay for affordable health care. When speaking before a group of medical students in Indiana in 1968, while running for President, Robert Kennedy was asked who was going to pay for all this new health care coverage he was proposing. His answer to the great surprise of the medical students was "you are". Like so many others we try and carry on that message in the work that we do and with the non-profit health plan carriers with whom we have group contracts. "
