Washington D.C. Health Insurance for Small Business, Non-Profits,
the Self Employed and Groups of Employees
NASRO
supports Washington D.C.'s efforts to make affordable health
insurance available to all of the District's residents.
NASRO
is a non-profit socially responsible business association
that is your consumer advocate. Our members includes many
of the District of Colombia's socially responsible businesses,
independent business professionals and employees, to which
it offers a number of benefit plans.
With
the choice of health insurance companies available limited
by mergers and the quality of care of group model HMO's
declining, consumers need additional choices.
NASRO
is working to build a socially responsible cooperatively
owned health insurance company in Washington D.C. and is
appealing for your support.

Individual Health
Insurance Plans
There are a wide
variety of choices of health insurance plans available to
you through NASRO. The following are plan outline documents
from which you can start the process of deciding which plans
are best for you at this time.
In Washington
D.C. one of the major issues facing consumers is the question
of individual medical underwriting, that allows insurance
companies to turn down people who have pre-existing medical
conditions. NASRO is actively opposed to this practice of
turning down for coverage the very people who need it the
most.
But, if you have
a pre-existing condition that may result in your coverage
being denied, there is an alternative better than the coverage
offered though the terms of the very expensive HIPPA program.
A special plan is listed in this section of the site from
which people with pre-existing conditions can enroll.
Please call the
NASRO office and our staff can help walk you through what
is many times a very confusing process that consumers need
an advocate like NASRO to successfully navigate. Call 800-638-8113
from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
